Mechanical Design & Development Engineer - £43/£44.50 per hour (Umbrella, inside IR35)

Location: Fully onsite in Peterborough

We are seeking a Mechanical Design & Development Engineer with experience in Engine, Transmission, Mechanisms, or similar rotating equipment (Pumps or similar considered with Creo experience) for a 12-month contract based in Peterborough.

Responsibilities include:

1. CAD Modelling & Design of components and assemblies.
2. Completion of component and group drawings.
3. Collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.
4. Engaging with other engineers and technical resources to resolve detailed technical problems.
5. Working with a global team requiring virtual collaboration.
6. Collaborating with design resources and suppliers to rapidly implement design changes.

Candidate Requirements:

• Working knowledge of solid modelling (preferably CREO and Teamcenter, but other 3D packages considered with training provided).
• Experience with complex rotating components & machinery, whole system mechanisms, and automotive projects.
• Understanding of design for manufacturing and design for assembly philosophies.
• Experience with bolt & seal castings.
• Engineering degree or HND with relevant experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different geographies.
• Must be onsite a few days a week; remote work option available.

This role is inside IR35, with the umbrella pay rate between £43 - £44.50 per hour. PAYE options available at £32-£33 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
