Battery Electromechanical Design Engineer - 12mth Contract

Location: Peterborough, UK

Employment Type: Full-Time - CONTRACT 12 month

Hourly Rate: £26-28 p/hr (37hrs per week)

We are currently seeking an experienced Electromechanical Design Engineer to join the Electrification + Energy Solutions Battery Development Team focused on concepting and designing a range of battery pack and EV electrical systems for various applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather and agree on requirements for Electrical harness, BDU, electrical components, and hardware design.
• Contribute to risk assessments (DFMEAs) and update risk reduction plans towards production.
• Design 3D CAD models of Electrical System components, assemblies, LV harnesses, and HV Cables.
• Create BOMs for EV electrical components, cabling, and wiring.
• Develop concepts and lead structured collaborative down-selection to production release.
• Lead the resolution of testbed and in-field validation issues, communicating progress to leadership.
• Communicate validation status to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop an understanding of customer needs and industry standards.
• Stay updated on new battery technologies, manufacturing methods, and legislation.

What We're Looking For:

• At least 2 years of high voltage battery/EV powertrain design experience with solid battery system knowledge.
• Proficiency in PTC Creo for designing cabling, schematics, simulations, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Experience in concept development and structured product development processes.
• Familiarity with PLM tools and structured NPI processes.
• Experience designing within compliance standards.
• Previous experience in off-highway and automotive industries.
