Job summary

White Label Recruitment Ltd is helping a leading UK automotive manufacturer in Bury recruit a Design Engineer. The role focuses on producing 2D and 3D drawings and providing daily technical support to Sales and Production teams.

You will create part numbers, BOMs and assembly instructions, while handling engineering changes and supplier/customer requests in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail with a methodical, organised approach.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Inventor (SolidWorks also considered).
• FEA analysis experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce 2D and 3D drawings and provide day-to-day technical support with Sales and Production.
• Create part numbers, BOMs, assembly instructions and visual aids for production.
• Implement engineering changes and supplier/customer change requests.
• Liaise with third party manufacturers, sending out DXF/STEP files and drawings.
• Manage budget and costing control.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Maintain bodybuilding guidelines from OEM manuals.
• Manage approval process for samples and product revisions.
• Maintain ISO standards.

Design Engineer - Bury | Up to £37,000 | Permanent

We're working with one of the UK's leading Automotive manufacturers, who are looking to add a CAD Designer to their busy team on a full time, permanent basis.

The role:

• Working closely with the Sales and Production departments to produce 2D and 3D drawings and provide day-to-day technical support
• Creating part numbers, BOMs, assembly instructions and visual aids for the production team
• Implementing engineering changes and supplier/customer change requests
• Liaising with third party manufacturers, sending out DXF/STEP files and drawings
• Managing budget and costing control
• Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities
• Maintaining bodybuilding guidelines from OEM manuals
• Managing the approval process for samples of new products and product revisions
• Maintaining company ISO standards

What they're looking for:

• Experienced with AutoCAD/Inventor (Solidworks also considered)
• Previous experience within a similar industry preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving and demanding environment
• Strong attention to detail with a methodical, organised approach
• Good communication skills
• Experience with Trailerwin is preferable but not essential
• FEA analysis experience would be advantageous

Package:

• Up to £37,000, depending on experience
