Job summary

Future Engineering Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for a well‑established water treatment equipment manufacturer in Kettering. You will design and build bespoke water purification systems, develop concepts with SolidWorks, and contribute from idea to manufacture.

In this hands‑on role you will work with the MD and engineering team, visit client sites to take measurements, and have clear paths for progression into senior or operations roles as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Some previous design engineering experience, ideally within a mechanical or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks software.
• An understanding of mechanical components such as pipework, valves and pumps.
• A practical approach and willingness to learn across design and build.
• Looking for a long‑term opportunity with genuine scope for development.
• Ideally based within a commutable distance of Kettering.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Managing Director and engineering team on the design and build of water treatment equipment.
• Support the development and modification of engineering designs using SolidWorks.
• Get involved in the manufacture and assembly of bespoke water purification systems.
• Work with components including pipework, valves, pumps and exchange resin vessels.
• Occasionally visiting customer sites to assess installations and take measurements.

Are you a design engineer looking to develop your design experience within a specialist engineering company? Join a well-established manufacturer of water purification and treatment equipment, working closely with an experienced engineering team.
