Job summary

E3 Recruitment Huddersfield is seeking a Design Engineer for a global engineering leader. The role involves developing new designs or re‑engineering existing designs using AutoCAD 2D & 3D, including Solid Edge, and creating detailed drawings and BOMs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years in an engineering environment preferred.
  • Experience with design documentation and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new designs or re‑engineer existing ones for new applications using AutoCAD 2D/3D and Solid Edge.
  • Create detailed component and assembly drawings and maintain BOMs.
  • Interpret customer specifications and design standards.
  • Participate in DFMEA/PFMEA activities and maintain design documentation.
  • Report to Engineering leadership and maintain compliance with ISO standards.

The successful Design Engineer will be easily able to commute to HUDDERSFIELD from surrounding towns & cities, including Leeds, Dewsbury, Halifax, Wakefield and Brighouse. Key Responsibilities of the Design Engineer will include: Develop new designs or re-engineer existing designs for new applications using AutoCAD 2D & 3D, including Solid Edge. Create detailed component and assembly drawings Create and maintain accurate documentation including BOM's, Manuals and Maintenance instructions for designs. Interpret customer specifications and design standards Participate in Design/Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA) activities Reporting to the Technical Authority, Engineering Resource Manager and Engineering Director For the Design Engineer role, we are keen to receive CV's from candidates who possess: Experience as a Design Engineer or similar within an Engineering environment Demonstrable understanding of material selection, Understanding of industry standards such as ISO, AGMA, DIN and FKM to name a few.
