Job summary

E3 Recruitment is seeking a Quality Engineer for a global engineering and manufacturing leader based near Huddersfield. The role focuses on maintaining ISO 9001:2015 QMS, supporting cross-functional teams, planning audits, and driving CAPA processes.

Candidates should understand GD&T, be able to read drawings, and be willing to travel UK and overseas with a full UK driving licence. HNC/HND or Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quality Engineer within engineering/manufacturing.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and GD&T.
• Willingness to travel UK and overseas; full clean driving licence.
• Apprentice trained or holding an HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ISO 9001:2015 QMS and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and defence standards.
• Provide QA support within cross-functional teams and ensure contract and customer requirements.
• Plan and conduct internal audits aligned with ISO and AQAP standards; apply risk-based thinking to drive effectiveness.
• Manage non-conformances and supplier defects in SAP; perform root cause analysis and CAPA.
• Lead investigations into defects, near misses and complaints using structured problem-solving (8D, 5 Whys).
• Oversee quality documentation, inspections, and validation to ensure product conformity throughout production.
• Monitor quality performance and drive continuous improvement; engage with customers, suppliers, and auditors.

The successful Quality Engineer will be easily able to commute to HUDDERSFIELD from surrounding towns & cities, including Leeds, Dewsbury, Halifax, Wakefield and Brighouse.

Key Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer will include:

• Maintain and improve the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and defence standards.
• Provide quality assurance support within cross-functional teams, ensuring adherence to project, contractual, and customer requirements.
• Plan and conduct internal audits aligned with ISO and AQAP standards, applying risk-based thinking to ensure system effectiveness.
• Manage non-conformances and supplier defects in SAP, ensuring root cause analysis and effective CAPA implementation.
• Lead investigations into defects, near misses, and complaints using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys).
• Oversee quality documentation, inspections, and validation activities to ensure product conformity throughout production.
• Monitor quality performance, drive continuous improvement, and engage with customers, suppliers, and auditors to ensure ongoing compliance.

For the Quality Engineer role, we are keen to receive CV's from candidates who possess:

• Experience as a Quality Engineer or similar within an Engineering or manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and understand detailed mechanical drawings, Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing
• Open to travel UK and Overseas - Full Clean Licence
• Apprentice trained or a HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar

Salary & Benefits:

• up to 44,000 depending on experience
• Flexible working hours
• Monday to Friday
• 37.5 hours per week
