Job summary

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical or Product Design Engineering is required.

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication and welded assemblies is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and methodical design approach needed.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and standards is expected.

Role Overview

As a Draughtsman/Woman at BenweldSecure, you’ll be responsible for developing detailed 3D/2D designs and manufacturing drawings for our range of security products. You’ll play a key part in turning customer specifications and concept designs into production-ready solutions, working closely with sales, production, and Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed 3D/2D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks (or similar)
• Prepare bill of materials (BOMs) and production packs for fabrication
• Support the sales and estimating team with design input and technical clarifications
• Apply relevant design standards, tolerances, and materials knowledge (e.g. steel, aluminium)
• Review and improve existing designs to enhance manufacturability, cost, and performance
• Liaise with production, suppliers, and quality control to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and engineering standards

Skills & Experience

• HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical or Product Design Engineering
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
