Job summary

Kingscroft Professional Resources is helping a specialist manufacturing business recruit a Design Engineer. The role focuses on mechanical system design, sheet metal and electro‑mechanical components, and driving design changes across teams.

You will manage BOMs in the MRP system, create new part numbers, and coordinate PCO generation and release. Ideal candidates include graduates and experienced engineers alike, prepared to work in a complex manufacturing environment and contribute to design

Qualifications

• Experience in design engineering for mechanical, sheet metal and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Strong BOM management experience including MRP systems and engineering change control.
• Open to candidates at all career stages, including graduates or early career engineers.

Responsibilities

• Product design using 3D CAD.
• Maintain and generate Bills of Materials within MRP.
• Set up new purchased part numbers in the ERP/MRP system.
• Create, release and distribute Product Change Orders (PCOs).
• Attend team meetings and action workload priorities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and communicate design changes.
• Support continuous improvement activities.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and new product development (NPD) activities.

Are you a Design Engineer or Project Engineer with a background in Design Engineering and Product Development Are you confident with Design Engineering projects involving sheet metal, mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Can you help support wider cross functional teams working on design changes , creating and managing BOMs , using MRP systems and updating design data to ensure ongoing product success

Kingscroft have been asked to recruit for a Design Engineer by a specialist manufacturing business. As the ideal candidate you will have experience of working in complex manufacturing environments creating designs of mainly mechanical systems and helping to control and deliver projects through engineering change and delivery phases.

Daily Duties to Include:

• Product Design using 3D CAD
• Bill of materials maintenance within MRP system.
• New Bill of Materials generation within MRP System.
• New purchased part number set up .
• PCO (Product Change Order) generation, release and distribution for engineering related activities.
• Attend team meetings to understand workload and assist in priority request actioning.
• Liaise with cross functional teams to take on board information for action requests and also communicate out changes implemented to relevant teams.
• Support Continuous improvement activities
• Support NPI and NPD activities
