Job summary

Mabey Hire is seeking a Design Engineer in Glasgow to produce and check temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver compliant designs and site visits.

The role requires 3+ years in temporary works design, a civil/structural engineering qualification, and proficiency with AutoCAD/ REVIT. The position offers a competitive salary and a company bonus in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience designing temporary works, specifically Cofferdams or Building Refurbishment.
• HND or degree in civil/structural engineering.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
• Good understanding of CDM 2019.

Responsibilities

• Prepare temporary works designs for our products.
• Check designs and drawings in accordance with the appropriate standards.
• Attend client meetings and carry out site visits.
• Review design briefs provided by the sales team and provide feedback if more information is required.
• Manage your own workload.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects as agreed by the Engineering Director.

Design Engineer

We are a leading temporary works specialist and at the forefront of our industry for over 60 years, with a reputation built on engineering and service excellence. This enables us to deliver the right temporary works solution for our customers, whatever the scale or complexity of the project. Our customers include civil engineering and construction contractors, asset owners, and consulting engineering firms through to small builders.

Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for a design engineer to join our engineering team in Glasgow. Reporting to a Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for producing temporary works designs and checks for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework.

The role would suit an engineer with a few years post graduate experience with demonstratable technical experience in structures or geotechnical design and a sound understanding of temporary works. At Mabey Hire, the floor is yours to fulfil your potential and take us forward.

You will:
