Job summary

J3a Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer for Coventry to join a skilled team delivering challenging control and automation projects across the UK. The role focuses on high-quality, commercially effective designs meeting client requirements and standards, within a stable and growing order book.

You will work on MCCs, switchgear, LV distribution, and menu of electrical design tasks, collaborating with software engineers and supporting sales with technical input.

Qualifications

• Experience in hardware electrical design within a systems integration environment.
• Knowledge of MCCs with DOL, ASD, soft start and VSD applications.
• Experience with switchgear, control panels or LV distribution.
• Proficient use of AutoCAD Electrical for diagrams and drawings.
• Familiarity with BS EN 61439 and BS EN 60204 standards.
• Demonstrated understanding of 18th Edition BS 7671 electrical regulations.
• Experience with equipment specification, installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Designing MCCs, switchgear, control panels and LV distribution systems.
• Producing electrical schematics, specifications, GA drawings and BOMs.
• Leading FATs and supporting commissioning and SAT activities.
• Collaborating with Software Engineers to produce FDS documentation.
• Supporting technical reviews and providing engineering input to Sales.
• Identifying emerging technologies and improving internal processes.
• Supporting colleagues across the wider Engineering team.

We're recruiting an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team delivering technically challenging control and automation projects across the UK.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing high-quality, commercially effective control system designs that meet client requirements and relevant industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Designing MCCs, switchgear, control panels and LV distribution systems


• Producing electrical schematics, specifications, GA drawings and BOMs


• Leading FATs and supporting commissioning and SAT activities


• Working alongside Software Engineers to produce accurate FDS documentation


• Supporting technical reviews and providing engineering input to Sales


• Identifying emerging technologies and improving internal processes


• Supporting colleagues across the wider Engineering team
