Job summary

EMBS Engineering is recruiting a Design and Development Project Engineer to join its precision manufacturing business in Derby. You will coordinate design and development projects, support customer-facing communications, and oversee planning across multiple programmes, including long-term rig projects and specialist packages.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating multiple projects or programmes with planning and reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers and internal teams.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, able to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of design and development projects, from quotation through to completion, across multiple engineering programmes.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and status reports, and communicate progress to senior management.
• Act as the main point of contact for customers, providing regular project updates and reporting as required.
• Manage the flow of engineering drawings and instructions between the design team and manufacturing/assembly.
• Work closely with the design and development teams to track progress and highlight any issues.
• Identify potential project risks and help develop and implement mitigation plans.
• Liaise with manufacturing, quality and engineering colleagues, as well as customers and suppliers, to keep projects on track.
• Record lessons learned and support project close-out in line with company processes.
