Job summary

Farrans Construction is seeking a Design Coordinator to lead the design coordination for complex civil engineering projects from concept to completion. You will work with clients, designers and project teams to ensure designs align with programme and gain client approval, supporting on-site delivery.

Travel across Scotland to various project locations will be required, and you will apply advanced BIM and design-tools knowledge to keep information coordinated and compliant throughout the project

Qualifications

• Proven design co-ordination experience within Civils
• Strong understanding of modern construction techniques and plant
• Knowledge of NEC/JCT forms of contract
• Advanced MS Office, Asta PowerProject and AutoCAD familiarity

Responsibilities

• Lead design development from contract award through to completion
• Provide clear direction to designers and monitor progress
• Ensure coordinated designs are approved ahead of construction programme
• Review information for compliance, buildability and safety
• Support risk management, value engineering and issue resolution
• Promote BIM use on live projects and assist BIM Manager
• Support client duties under CDM regulations in design development
