Job summary

Platinum Search Recruitment Limited represents a construction business seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to join their Main Contracts team. This role covers projects up to £15m across the Home Counties, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and North London.

You will provide full design support through tender and project delivery, coordinate design teams under JCT and NEC contracts, ensure buildability and programme alignment, and report to the Main Contracts Director.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating design across £1m–£15m projects.
• Experience with Design & Build schemes.
• Experience managing Contractor Designed Packages (CDP) under JCT/NEC contracts.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 and Building Safety Act.
• Proficient coordinating multiple design consultants and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate full design process from tender to project completion.
• Provide full design support to preconstruction and delivery teams.
• Work with consultant design teams to ensure designs are compliant, buildable and on programme.

Job description

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Design Coordinator to join their Main Contracts team, working on projects valued up to £15m across the Home Counties, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and North London.

This is a standalone design role, providing full design support to our preconstruction team through tender and to our project delivery teams through to completion. Reporting to the Main Contracts Director, you will coordinate the design process - including full design, Design & Build schemes and Contractor Designed Packages under JCT and NEC contracts - working with consultant design teams to ensure designs are technically compliant, buildable and delivered in line with the project programme, budget and client requirements.

Skills & Experience

• Experience working for a main contractor, coordinating or managing the design process across projects ranging from £1m to £15m in value
• Experience of full design and Design & Build schemes
• Experience managing Contractor Designed Packages (CDP) under JCT and NEC contracts
• Strong technical knowledge across a range of construction methods and building types
• Working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 and the Building Safety Act
• Confident coordinating multiple design consultants and stakeholders simultaneously
• Proficient in Power Project (or similar planning software) for developing design programmes
• Familiarity with BIM/Revit-based design coordination (desirable)
• Well organised, with excellent prioritisation, attention to detail and communication skills
