Job summary

United Infrastructure seeks an experienced Design Authority to provide technical leadership across telecoms projects from concept to construction. You will ensure designs meet operator standards and project specs while supporting delivery teams with robust CAD outputs and design guidance.

You will review designs for risks, provide practical solutions, and coordinate with clients, designers and contractors to meet programme milestones and quality benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Experience in telecoms, infrastructure, or network design.
• Strong understanding of telecoms site design and construction requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and operator requirements.
• Proactive, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to collaborate across design, engineering and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support telecoms site designs in line with operator standards and project requirements.
• Produce and review 2D CAD planning drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide technical input to designers, project managers and delivery teams.
• Review designs to identify issues, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Recommend investigations, surveys, and enabling works as needed.
• Act as technical point of contact for clients, operators and contractors.
• Liaise with clients and project teams to develop practical, compliant design solutions.
• Support resolution of design and technical queries throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure outputs are delivered to agreed timescales and quality standards.

The role will ensure designs meet operator requirements, industry standards, and project-specific specifications, while supporting delivery teams from initial design through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and support the preparation of telecoms site designs in line with operator standards, specifications, and project requirements
• Produce and review 2D CAD planning and construction drawings, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance
• Provide technical and engineering input to designers, project managers, and delivery teams
• Review designs and identify technical issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Make recommendations for further investigations, surveys, and enabling works where required
• Act as a technical point of contact for clients, operators, designers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
• Liaise with clients and project teams to develop practical, compliant, and cost-effective design solutions
• Support the resolution of design and technical queries throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure designs and technical outputs are delivered to agreed timescales and quality standards

Experience & Skills

• Experience in telecoms, infrastructure, or network design
• Strong understanding of telecoms site design and construction requirements
• Competent in AutoCAD/2D CAD and technical drawing production
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and operator requirements
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues
• Ability to work collaboratively across design, engineering, and delivery teams
