Job summary

St. Mary’s Menston, a Catholic Voluntary Academy, is seeking a Design & Technology Technician to coordinate practical resources and equipment to support DT teaching from KS3 to KS5. The role includes providing technical support, maintaining a safe environment and ensuring equipment is ready to use.

You will need a technical background, be able to multi-task, problem solve and monitor Health & Safety checks; good literacy and numeracy are essential and you must work well with young people.

Qualifications

  • Have a technical background with experience in multi-tasking, problem solving and implementing/monitoring Health & Safety checks.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and working practices.
  • Willingness and ability to work with young people.
  • Effective organisational skills; able to work in a team and use initiative.

Responsibilities

Job description

  • Required as soon as possible
  • Permanent, 26 hours per week over 4 days, Term Time Only
  • Salary NJC Grade B3, Scale Points 7-11, £27,274 - £29,070 per annum
  • Actual Salary £16,081 - £17,140 per annum

The Academy Council of this high achieving and oversubscribed Catholic Voluntary Academy is looking to appoint a Design & Technology Technician to co-ordinate the use of practical resources and equipment to support the teaching and curriculum development of a range of Design Technology subjects from Key stage 3 to 5. The role will involve providing technical support, ensuring and maintaining a safe working environment and that the workroom equipment is functioning properly and is ready to use. Applicants need to have a technical background and experience of multi-tasking, problem solving and implementing and monitoring Health and Safety checks.

You will have good knowledge of health and safety regulations and working practices with the willingness and ability to work with young people. You will have effective and efficient organisational skills, be able to work as part of a team and use your own initiative. Good literacy and numeracy skills are essential.
