The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Plastic Surgeon (Skin) to deliver dermatology skin procedures in an outpatient setting, with one theatre session per month. You will help shape dermatology services and train colleagues across the organisation.

You will join a Trust undergoing a major transformation programme, working to implement service redesign and improve patient care in Shropshire and mid Wales.

Qualifications

• 6 years experience as a plastic surgeon
• Full GMC Registration and license to practice

Responsabilités

• Undertake outpatient dermatology skin procedures.
• Partake in the skin MDT as a core member.
• Undertake 1 session per month skin surgery in theatres.
• Provide support to the dermatology service and medical students by actively contributing to training and continuity of service
• To have excellent team‑working skills with the abilities and professional attitude to work well in a multi‑professional team.
• The post holder will also contribute to service development. This may involve contributing to Ockenden recommendations, QIPs, audit projects, guideline updates or teaching and training.
• To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners. Including supporting the shift of elective activity out of a theatre environment and into an outpatient setting inline with GIRFT.

Formation

MBBS or equivalent

MRCS

FRCS (Plastic Surgery) or equivalent qualifications approved by the GMC
