Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking a Fabric Technician to support Rolls-Royce client sites in Derby. The role focuses on maintaining building fabric, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering improvements across historic and modern properties.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance performance and sustainability. Based at a Rolls-Royce site in Derby, the role is on-site with a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or facilities management in the UK
• Strong knowledge of UK building materials, construction methods, and safety regulations
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and UK-specific building management software
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of building exteriors and interiors to identify maintenance needs in line with UK regulations
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for building fabric elements, considering the unique challenges of the UK climate
• Manage repair and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with UK building codes and regulations
• Collaborate with other departments to address client concerns and improve property performance
• Prepare detailed reports on building conditions and recommend appropriate actions, adhering to UK industry standards
• Oversee contractors and vendors involved in building fabric maintenance and repairs
• Stay updated on the latest building technologies and sustainable practices in the UK construction industry
