Job summary

Derbion is seeking an Environmental Services Assistant – Nights to join the Environmnental Services Department. You will work with the team out of trading hours to clean the Centre, operating cleaning machines after training and presenting a professional manner.

Good organisational skills and safety awareness are essential. You will perform deep cleans, operate scrubbers, manage waste, and liaise with leaders to keep the department running smoothly while upholding HASAWA standards and uniform

Responsibilities

• Carry out deep cleaning of the centre during out-of-hours.
• Operate cleaning machines such as scrubber/dryer and vacuum cleaners.
• Ensure waste is disposed of, bins cleaned as needed.
• Clean fixtures, fittings, walls, floors, stairs and escalators.
• Adhere to Health & Safety procedures including COSHH and PPE.
• Liaise with team leaders to ensure smooth department operation.
• Maintain sanitary areas, replenish supplies, and keep uniform standards.
• Deliver world-class customer service to visitors and colleagues.
• Identify hazards and take corrective actions; follow HASAWA.
• Undertake any other duties as requested by supervisors.

Description:

Purpose of the Role

As an Environmental Services Assistance – Nights within the Environmnental Services Department of the
business you will work with other team member’s out of trading hours to clean the Centre. You will be expected
to operate cleaning machines after training and present a professional manner at all times. You will be
expected to have good organisational skills and the ability to identify and rectify areas that require attention.

Key Responsibilities

This role will include a variety of tasks including the following:

• Carrying out a deep clean of the centre during out of hours.
• Use of scrubber/dryer, rotary scrubber, escalator cleaner & vacuum cleaning machines amongst others.
• To ensure all waste is dealt with appropriately, emptying and cleaning bins when necessary
• To clean all of the fixtures and fittings as directed
• To comply with all of the Health & Safety procedures for the Department including COSHH – machinery check sheets PPE, clinical waste disposal and the sharps policy
• To liaise with Team Leaders & colleagues to ensure a smooth running of department
• To maintain all of the sanitary areas to the required standard, replenishing supplies as required
• To ensure all graffiti is removed immediately
• Delivering world class customer service to all visitors and colleagues
• Taking care of own and others health and safety
• Maintaining safe working practices in line with HASAWA
• Identifying hazards and take steps to correct them
• Maintaining a smart and well groomed appearance meeting our uniform standards
