Cygnet Hospital Ealing is seeking a Deputy Ward Manager for Sunrise Ward, a 14-bed specialist eating disorder service for women. You will provide high-quality nursing leadership, coordinate clinical care across departments and ensure policy compliance on an inpatient ward.

The role requires RMN or RNLD with an active NMC pin and at least 2 years of experience, with a track record in change leadership and patient safety. This position offers a structured career path and supportive team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide highest standard of nursing care and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate all clinical aspects of the ward and ensure interdepartmental cooperation.
• Implement and audit policies, procedures and regulations.
• Ensure policy compliance and quality standards are maintained.
• Support staff through debriefs, appraisals, and training.
• Lead by example to maintain high standards of care and documentation.

Deputy Ward Manager (RMN/RNLD

You’ll be working 38.5 hours a week (Including shifts from Monday – Sunday on a rota basis), at Cygnet Hospital Ealing.

We are looking for a Deputy Ward Manager to join us on Sunrise Ward, which is our 14 bed specialised eating disorder service for women, including those with extremely low BMIs. We focus on supporting individuals to attain a healthy BMI and prepare for a return to home.

Cygnet Hospital Ealing provides a welcoming, non-institutional environment, offering personalised treatment for service users with an eating disorder or personality disorder over two separate wards.

Your day-to-day…

• Provide the highest standard of nursing care & be a role model to junior staff
• Co-ordinate all clinical aspects of the ward & ensure co-operation between clinical departments
• Implement clinical & administrative policies, procedures & regulations
• Ensure compliance by others of policies, procedures & regulations
• Support staff through debriefs, appraisals, training, meetings & development of evidence/ research-based practice
• Lead by example to ensure consistently high standards of clinical care & documentation

You will have…

• A qualified RMN / RNLD with a valid NMC pin number with over 2 year experience
• Committed to delivering improvement strategies across all aspects of clinical service provision
• Familiar with in an inpatient setting (preferably experience of working within eating disorders)
• Experienced in managing change, leadership initiatives, motivating & developing others
• Open, compassionate, honest & resilient
• Capable of undertaking audits, developing, following-up & ensuring completion of action plans
• Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & the latest nursing practices
• Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk
