An exciting opportunity has arisen on Ward 1 at Berwick Infirmary. We are currently in the process of building a new hospital and require a band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team. Ward 1 is an innovative and forward thinking, Care of the Elderly / Rehabilitation Ward. We currently have 10 beds but will be increasing to 24 once the new ward is open.
We are looking for experienced candidates who have a commitment to ensuring safe and high-quality care is delivered to our patients, as well as being a role model and supporting our junior workforce. On Ward 1 there is a strong focus on multidisciplinary team working, to ensure safe and timely patient discharges or transfers to appropriate care settings.
You will be expected to work as part of a dynamic nursing team, delivering all aspects of care to patients and have excellent communication skills. As part of this role you will be required to coordinate the ward and also support the Ward Manager. The successful candidates will gain a wide range of clinical and managerial experience.
The successful post holder must be able to role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the Trust.

The main purpose of the role is to assist, plan and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the ward manager.
You will also be responsible for the organizing and co-ordination of the nursing services in the absence of the ward manager, lead a team of nurses and be innovative.
The successful post holder must be able to be a role model, compassionate and show inclusive leadership skills. This is to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
