An opportunity has arisen for a Deputy ward manager who will assume responsibility for the devolved management of the ward working with the ward manager and 2 duties.
To be responsible for a case load of patients and supervise the ward staff caring for up to 26 medical patients.
To have direct patient contact, patient assessment, rehabilitation and working with the multi disciplinary team.
Ward 2 is a general medical ward, the majority of patient's are frail elderly with complex needs and discharge planning.

To assume responsibility for the devolved management of a ward including assessment of care needs, the implementation of evidence based practice in the absence of the ward manager.
To supervise, support and educate junior members of staff including students.

Ward 2 is a general medical ward, the majority of patient's are frail elderly with complex needs and discharge planning.
Patient Safety - NEWS Score, infection control, administer prescribed medication, discharge planning and incident reporting. Safe staffing.
Quality - in the absence of ward manager to attend weekly monthly Governance meetings, weekly huddle, length of stay, mentor students, audits and waste management.
Behaviours - be courteous, professional helpful and polite at all times, deal with concerns and complaints,
