Kirklees Metropolitan Council seeks a Senior Planning Officer- Deputy Team Leader to help lead the Development Management Team. You will mentor, supervise and manage a team of Planners, while handling a small caseload of complex planning proposals and major development schemes.

The role requires sound knowledge of current planning legislation and guidance, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, and the ability to work in a digital, politically aware environment.

Qualifikationen

• Significant experience dealing with complex planning applications including major development proposals and appeals.
• Sound knowledge of current planning legislation and associated guidance.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; listening and negotiation abilities.

• Mentor, supervise and manage a team of Planners.
• Assist the Team Leader in guiding and coordinating Development Management activities.
• Process and determine planning applications, including complex proposals.
• Progress a small caseload of major development proposals and appeals.
