Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

  • Deputy to the Superintendent Radiographer in CT and MRI.
  • Cover Superintendent duties in their absence.
  • Work in a job share role, maintaining communication and professionalism.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Organise daily workload, negotiate rota changes.
  • Manage staff absences, annual leave, and conduct return-to-work interviews.
  • Make decisions on staffing, skill mix, leave requests, shift swaps, and WLI allocation.
  • Manage bank and agency staff, update competencies.
  • Liaise with locum agencies, update rotas and demand records.
  • Handle PP and WLI payments, finalize end-of-month records.
  • Schedule and conduct staff appraisals, ensure competency development.
  • Provide training, schedule mandatory training, and maintain records.
  • Undertake IV cannulation and therapy assessments.
  • Respond to LERN forms, and lead staff meetings.
  • Address performance issues and patient complaints appropriately.
  • Create/update SOPs, policies, PGDs, protocols.
  • Report faults, schedule maintenance, and update records.
  • Ensure departmental audits are completed.
  • Participate in recruitment and service improvement initiatives.
  • Attend relevant meetings and forums.
