Join Our Team as a Deputy Service Manager
To be responsible, through management and staff leadership, for promoting and ensuring the highest standards of care, in compliance with statutory requirements, to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the residents within the Christian ethos of PCI. To support the Service Manager in all aspects of the Management of the Service.

The Council for Social Witness (Older People Services) is part of the work and witness of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. It is dedicated to providing compassionate and professional care for older people, with a focus on physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Corkey House is one of 6 homes for older people run by the Council for Social Witness and is situated at 1 Forthriver Crescent, Belfast. The purpose-built home accommodates 35 residents who have a variety of physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs and varying levels of dependency.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care
Promote and maintain high standards of care, ensuring residents' physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs are met.
Participate in the admission, assessment, and care planning process, ensuring regular reviews are conducted.
Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential care records.
Organise and oversee daily activities and therapeutic programmes for residents.
Handle complaints efficiently and report them as necessary.
Support quality assurance initiatives to continually improve services.
Assist in budget management and maintaining high occupancy levels.
Act as Home Manager in their absence, including attending meetings and reporting on operations.
Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and RQIA regulations.
Oversee staff supervision, appraisals, recruitment, and disciplinary procedures.
Promote a positive and team-focused working environment.
Identify and support staff training needs, including Induction, QCF, and Dementia Training.
Administration & Compliance
Liaise with families, medical professionals, and external agencies.
Oversee medication management, stock levels, and ordering.
Assist with staff rota planning and timesheet verification.
Ensure all health and safety standards are met, including reporting maintenance issues.
Christian Ethos
Lead or assist with daily devotions within the Service.
Ensure pastoral care and opportunities for worship are available to all residents.
Communicate the Christian faith through actions and interactions with residents and staff.
What We Are Looking For
Experience in a senior care role with leadership responsibilities.
Strong understanding of residential care standards and regulatory requirements.
Ability to manage and support a team, fostering a positive working environment.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Commitment to the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
