Job summary

Lift Kingsley in Greater London is seeking a dedicated Deputy SENDCO to work with the SENDCO, ensuring high-quality, inclusive support for students with SEND. You will help develop provision, monitor EHCPs and champion inclusion across the school.

The role requires experience in a SEND setting, strong collaboration with staff, families and external professionals, and a proactive approach to improving outcomes for every learner. QTS is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the SEND team in developing and evaluating provision for students with SEND.
• Contribute to EHCP writing, implementation, and review.
• Identify individual student needs and tailor provision accordingly.
• Collaborate with teachers and professionals to implement interventions.
• Monitor SEND progress and support high progress.
• Build relationships with students, parents, colleagues and external professionals.
• Maintain an orderly and supportive SEND Department environment.
• Contribute to developing SEND provision across the school.
• Support SENDCO to ensure policy and statutory requirements are implemented.

If so, Lift Kingsley is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and skilled Deputy SENDCO to join our dedicated team and work closely with the SENDCO to ensure our students receive high-quality, effective and inclusive support.

Key Responsibilities (in collaboration with the SENDCO):

• Support the SEND team in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating appropriate provision for students with SEND.

• Contribute to the writing, implementation, monitoring and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

• Support the identification of individual needs and explore opportunities to ensure provision is tailored to the needs of each student.

• Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to identify and implement appropriate strategies and interventions.

• Monitor the progress and outcomes of students with SEND, supporting the SENDCO to ensure students make excellent progress.

• Build positive and effective relationships with students, parents/carers, colleagues and external professionals.

• Help create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive SEND Department environment.

• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of SEND provision across the school.

• Support the SENDCO in ensuring that SEND policies, procedures and statutory requirements are effectively implemented.

• Essential experience of working within a SEND department and a good understanding of SEND provision.

• A proven track record of achieving excellent progress and outcomes for young people, regardless of their prior attainment, needs or background.

• A strong commitment to inclusion and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to achieve their potential.

• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals.

• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

• A proactive and solution-focused approach, with a commitment to continually improving provision for students with SEND.
