Job summary

King’s Oak Academy is seeking a Deputy SENCO to support the SEND team and oversee day-to-day SEND operations. You will assist in leading provision for identified students, maintain the SEND register, and ensure resources drive high standards of learning and achievement.

The role requires experience with SEND and developing strategies across all year groups. Based in South Gloucestershire, King’s Oak Academy offers a supportive trust environment and opportunities for professional development

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in education and/or SEN or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Understanding of learning processes and barriers to learning to facilitate delivering activities.
• Clear understanding of children’s educational and emotional needs as they develop from Reception to Year 11.
• Proven experience working with SEND students and/or those with additional needs or disabilities.
• Ability to work as part of an all-through team and understand classroom roles.

Responsibilities

• Assist the SENCO in leading and managing SEND provision for identified students.
• Deputise for the SENCO in their absence and manage day-to-day SEND team operations.
• Maintain SEND register and ensure effective use of resources to support learning.
• Deliver measurable impact on attainment and personal development for designated students.
