Job summary

The Orpheus Centre is seeking an enthusiastic Deputy SENCo to join our dedicated team. You will coordinate and deliver high-quality SEND support across the college, deputise for the Assistant Principal - SENCo, chair EHCP annual reviews, and lead multidisciplinary meetings.

You will work with families, therapists and local authorities, support admissions and transitions, monitor progress, provide staff training, and help develop strategies to enable every learner to achieve their potential.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification required.
• Extensive SEND experience with young adults.
• Strong knowledge of EHCP annual reviews.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the SENCo when required.
• Chair EHCP Annual Review meetings.
• Lead multidisciplinary meetings and coordinate student support strategies.
• Support admissions, assessments and transitions for prospective learners.
• Liaise with local authorities, health professionals and external agencies.
• Coordinate interventions and targeted support for students.
• Support staff through training, guidance and implementation of effective strategies.
• Monitor provision to ensure learners progress toward goals.
