Job summary

Harris Federation is seeking a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for Harris Academy Tottenham in London. This role covers safeguarding leadership, case referrals and staff training to ensure child protection compliance across the academy.

The position reports to the safeguarding lead and involves CPOMS management, liaising with local authorities, and contributing to Ofsted readiness. The salary is £35,312.86–£36,798.40 for 41 weeks per year at 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• A clear and good understanding of safeguarding issues, theory and practice.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft software and management information systems for student data.
• Training in child protection and safeguarding procedures.
• Knowledge of welfare issues affecting students and families.

Responsibilities

• Refer cases of suspected abuse to local authorities as required.
• Support staff who make referrals to local authority social care.
• Refer cases to Channel programme for radicalisation concerns as required.
• Manage CPOMS and train staff in its use.
• Prepare information for Governors, ALGs and Ofsted.
• Understand local authority referral arrangements and early help processes.
