Job summary

Harris Academy Battersea is seeking a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to promote pupil welfare across the school. You will help ensure safeguarding remains a central priority, supporting a culture of vigilance, openness and professional curiosity.

In this role you will contribute to creating a safe, inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.

Qualifications

• Clear and good understanding of safeguarding issues, theory and practice.
• Ability to refer cases to local authority children's social care as required.
• Support staff who make referrals to safeguarding processes.
• Familiar with Channel programme referrals for radicalisation concerns.
• Knowledge of DBS checks and disclosures.
• Aware of welfare issues affecting students.

Responsibilities

• Refer cases to local authority children's social care as required.
• Support staff who make referrals to local authority children's social care.
• Refer cases to the Channel programme when there is radicalisation concern.
• Coordinate referrals to the Disclosure and Barring Service and Police as required.
