As a Deputy Programme Manager, this role supports the Programme Manager in the delivery of Defence projects. Reporting to the Control Systems Account and as a linchpin in the Project Delivery Team, you’ll have the chance to work on a high-profile control systems development programme.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and key stakeholders across the business.
  • Supports the Programme/Account Manager to manage project relationships, including partners, suppliers, and beneficiaries, in line with agreements, supplier code of conduct, and best practice stakeholder and contract management. These relationships will be managed through effective collaboration across the stakeholder community to ensure delivery objectives are met.
  • Supports the Business Development function in pursuing and capturing new opportunities through to the award of the associated contract.
  • Provides robust leadership to drive team performance, competence, and talent, and acts as a mentor and role model.

We are looking for:

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering/technical subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience.
  • Strong team leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop people.
  • Effective at working with people at all levels, using well-developed influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional in dealing with internal and external customers via in person, phone, and email communication.
