The University of Leeds is seeking a Head of Graduate School to lead the strategic development of postgraduate research within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures. This role involves collaboration with the Pro-Dean for Research & Innovation to enhance the quality and reputation of postgraduate research while ensuring academic standards are maintained.
Open to internal members of Academic staff at Grade 9 or Grade 10 within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures

The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures is seeking to appoint a new Head of Graduate School, following the end of Professor Pammi Sinha’s tenure on 31st July 2025. This role will be combined with the position of Deputy Pro-Dean for Research & Innovation.
The Faculty Head of Graduate School, on behalf of the Faculty Dean and through the Doctoral College, will shape the strategic development of postgraduate research (PGR) in the Faculty. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Pro-Dean for Research & Innovation to strengthen postgraduate research, maintain academic standards, ensure the quality of the PGR experience, enhance the international reputation of the University, and increase PGR numbers while maintaining quality.
The post-holder will play a key role in developing and supporting the research environment for postgraduate researchers and staff, and will work to raise the profile of postgraduate research within the Faculty. They will guide the Faculty's postgraduate strategy and policy and will lead on recruitment and studentship matters for PGRs, including monitoring recruitment, progress, examination, and completion of postgraduate researcher candidatures.
