Your new company
Hays Accountancy and Finance are recruiting and working in partnership with a large public sector organisation for the appointment of a Deputy Principal Accountant offering a competitive market-leading salary and public benefits. This role will act as an integral member of the Department for Economy within the Northern Ireland Civil Service.

Your new role

Working within a team of Chartered Accountants consisting of a Grade 7, 3 Deputy Principal, 2 Staff Officers and 1 EO1 Accountants to provide a Financial Governance advisory / challenge function for the Department.
Assist with a project to re-locate and operate an accountancy function from a 3rd party back into the Department.
Assist with losses, pay remits and other ad hoc governance issues that arise.
Leading project H&W to get records returned to the accountancy function in the Civil Service - you will be managing the process of this and embedding this into the finance team.

What you'll need to succeed

Applicants must be fully qualified accountants, having successfully completed the professional examinations, and be a full Member of one of the following bodies:
Chartered Accountants Ireland;
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland;
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales;
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants;
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants;
The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy;
The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland.

AND must have one year's experience gained in the last five years in a finance-related environment.
