Job summary

Kido is seeking a Deputy Nursery Manager for Blackwater, Hawley Green, GU17 9BS. You will lead nursery operations, ensure high standards of care and education, and act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead to protect children. You will develop staff, maintain health and safety, and work with families to support each child’s needs.

The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with a salary of £33,000–£39,000 plus discretionary bonus, offering career growth within a fast-growing international company.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 childcare qualification with management experience in Early Years.
• Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English required if Level 3 obtained after 2014.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursery operations ensuring smooth day-to-day running and high care, education, and compliance.
• Manage and develop staff through supervision, coaching, and professional development.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, overseeing safeguarding practices and training.
• Maintain health and safety compliance including risk assessments and drills.
• Build strong relationships with families and provide exceptional customer service.
• Ensure EYFS and Ofsted readiness with accurate records and policy implementation.
• Support curriculum delivery, observations, and progression of learning journeys.
• Oversee staffing and resource management with effective delegation and record-keeping.
• Support nursery growth through tours and events, collaborating with admissions.
• Promote an inclusive culture and continuous improvement across the nursery.
