Job summary

Chapel Hill Nursery in Basildon is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to help run a purpose-built setting for children aged 3 months to 4 years. The role blends leadership with hands-on childcare, splitting time between room-based activity support, staff development, and managing nursery operations.

You will lead on EYFS delivery, mentor the team, ensure health and safety standards, and build strong partnerships with families.

Qualifications

• Requires a full and relevant Early Years qualification at Level 3 or above.
• Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding practices.
• Experience as Room Leader or above in an early-years setting.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Nursery Manager to develop the nursery in line with EYFS framework.
• Promote child protection and ensure staff follow nursery policies.
• Lead and support staff to implement EYFS and deliver high-quality childcare and education.
• Mentor and coach the nursery team to achieve high standards and professional development.
• Maintain parental engagement and partnership with families.
