Job summary

Family First Nurseries seeks a Deputy Nursery Manager for CherryHarbour Nursery near Hayling Island. This full-time role (40 hours/week, Mon-Fri) offers up to £34,500 per year and a 75% childcare discount for your own children. The nursery provides a nurturing, nature-rich space for safe learning and development.

You will support the Nursery Manager, lead staff, promote child safety, EYFS compliance and smooth daily operations, while building strong relationships with families and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification.
• At least one year of experience working in an Early Years setting.
• Sound knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and regulatory requirements.
• At least one year of experience in a management position.
• Level 5 qualification in Childcare and/or Management and Leadership.
• Experience of successfully supporting or leading an Ofsted inspection resulting in a Good or Outstanding outcome.

Responsibilities

• Promote child safety and safeguarding across the nursery.
• Support EYFS compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with medication procedures and care plans for children and staff.
• Ensure stimulating learning and development experiences for children.
• Lead and motivate the team to maintain high standards of practice.
• Build positive relationships with families and colleagues through clear communication.
• Maintain accurate records and administration using EyMan system.
• Collaborate with management for smooth day-to-day nursery operations.
