Deputy Nursery Manager - Nursery School


Location: Harrow
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: 8:15am - 4:15pm (Mon & Wed meetings until 4:30pm)

Are you a passionate and experienced Early Years professional ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deputy Nursery Manager to join our warm and welcoming setting from September.

Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will help lead a committed team, ensure high standards of care and education, and play a key role in the daily running of the nursery. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities of a Deputy Nursery Manager:
  • Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day operations of the setting

  • Lead and inspire the team to deliver outstanding early years practice

  • Ensure all children are safe, happy, and thriving in a stimulating environment

  • Oversee planning, observations, and assessments in line with the EYFS framework

  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external professionals

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant setting, adhering to safeguarding and health & safety policies

  • Step in as acting manager in the absence of the Nursery Manager

Requirements to work as a Deputy Nursery Manager:
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years (Level 5 desirable)

  • Significant experience in an EYFS setting

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and child development

  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • A calm, positive, and proactive approach
