Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a fully qualified Anatomical Pathology Technician to join the mortuary team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital as the Deputy Mortuary Manager. The role involves supporting the Mortuary Service Manager, working with APTs and MEOs to deliver a comprehensive mortuary, post mortem and Medical Examiner’s service for the local community.

Applicants should hold the RSPH/RIPHH Certificate & Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology

Qualifications

• Registered with the Academy for Healthcare Sciences and/or Science Council

Responsibilities

• Assist with death certification process and post mortem input as required
• Provide technical assistance, dissection skills and input to post mortem examination services
• Oversee handling of the deceased from admission to release and maintain records
• Work with MEOs to support bereaved families and the mortality pathway
