Job summary

Escape Recruitment Services in Nottingham is seeking a Deputy Operations Manager to support engineering operations across projects, people and customers. This role blends technical leadership with commercial delivery and hands-on planning.

You will lead project delivery, drive performance, manage relationships, and ensure safety and NEC3 contractual compliance, while developing the team and coordinating resources to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and delivering engineering projects.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage performance.
• Strong customer liaison and technical advisory skills.
• Experience with project scheduling and Gantt chart tools.
• Experience with costing, quotations and project P&L.
• Site inspections and project delivery oversight.
• Knowledge of health and safety best practices.
• Contractual knowledge including NEC3.
• Experience with reactive and scheduled engineering work.
• Previous team leadership experience.
• Strong commercial sensibilities and customer-facing skills.
• Familiarity with NEC3 clauses and requirements.
• Valid UK driving license.

Are you an experienced engineer or project manager looking to take the next step into operational leadership?

I'm recruiting for a Deputy Operations Manager to support the Area Manager across engineering operations, project delivery, customer relationships and team leadership.

This isn't a purely office-based management position. You'll be involved in projects, people, customers, planning, engineering solutions and commercial delivery.

You'll be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering engineering projects

• Customer liaison and technical advice
• Project scheduling and Gantt charts
• Costing, quotations and project P&L
• Site inspections and project delivery
• Risk assessments and H&S
