Job summary

FitzRoy in Birmingham is seeking a Deputy Manager to lead care services supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism. You will work alongside the Service Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure high standards of person-centred care.

You will manage and develop the Support Worker team, promote independence and inclusion, and ensure regulatory compliance. A Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care and leadership experience are expected.

• Ensure safeguarding, medication management, health and safety and care practices are maintained to a high standard.
• Monitor service quality, audits, action plans and compliance requirements.
• Support rota management and staffing arrangements.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with families, professionals and external agencies.
• Participate in the management on-call rota as required.

Deputy Manager

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £29,500 per annum

FitzRoy Support Services in Birmingham provide complex care and in-depth support for adults with learning disabilities and autism, often with additional physical and mental health needs. Our Birmingham services currently support 13 people to live independently, develop life skills, access their local communities and achieve their personal goals.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred support and leading teams to achieve outstanding outcomes.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of services supporting 13 adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. You will be responsible for leading, motivating and developing support teams, ensuring the highest standards of care and support are delivered at all times.

You will play a key role in promoting a positive culture, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, supporting staff development and ensuring the people we support receive person-centred care that enables them to live fulfilled and independent lives.

Key Responsibilities

About You

You will be an experienced Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or Deputy Manager who is passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.

You will have:

• Experience within a health and social care setting.


• Previous experience of supervising or leading staff teams.


• Knowledge of CQC regulations and person-centred support.


• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.


• A positive, proactive and flexible approach.


• Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) and a willingness to work towards Level 5 if not already achieved.
