Job summary

Purosearch Ltd. is seeking a Deputy Manager for a 4-bed EBD children's home in Leeds (LS12). You will support the Registered Manager and help maintain a Good Ofsted rating while guiding a team of residential carers.

Ideal candidates will have prior residential care experience with children and young people, strong safeguarding knowledge, leadership potential and the drive to progress toward a Registered Manager role in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a children's residential care setting
• Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, care planning and residential childcare regulations
• Leadership potential and the ability to support and motivate a staff team
• Good communication, organisational and decision-making skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
• Commitment to providing safe, nurturing and child-centred care
• Ambition to develop professionally and progress towards a Registered Manager position

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the established 4-bed EBD home
• Help maintain the home's Good Ofsted rating and high standards of care
• Provide leadership, guidance and support to residential childcare staff
• Support staff supervision, training and professional development
• Ensure children receive safe, consistent and nurturing care tailored to their individual needs
• Support the development and review of care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies
• Promote safeguarding and ensure concerns are recorded, reported and escalated appropriately
• Ensure care is delivered in line with relevant regulations, policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate records and support quality assurance processes
• Build positive relationships with children, families, social workers and other professionals
• Contribute to service development and continuous improvement
• Work closely with the senior management team to develop the skills and experience required for progression into a Registered Manager role
