Job summary

SDR is seeking a Deputy Manager – Clinical Lead for Patcham Nursing Home in Brighton. You will be the senior clinician, leading clinical care, driving improvements, and deputising for the Registered Manager to ensure high standards of care.

You will balance hands-on clinical shifts with leadership duties, oversee risk and governance, and work to maintain inspection readiness while supporting occupancy and admissions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Clinical Lead.
• Current NMC registration (RN).
• Leadership or management qualification.

2026 Deputy Manager Clinical Lead (PNH)

Location: Patcham Nursing Home, Brighton

As our Clinical Lead, you'll be the senior clinician at Patcham Nursing Home in Brighton, a 30-bed home providing both nursing and residential care. You'll lead clinical care day to day, keep the home inspection-ready and deputise for the Registered Manager.

It's a hands-on role for an experienced Clinical Lead who wants to drive improvements within the nursing team and better outcomes for our residents.

Why this role

• You’ll report to the Registered Manager and deputise for them when they're away.
• A mix of floor and leadership: 1 to 2 clinical shifts a week, depending on demand, alongside leading the nursing team.
• Every week is different: care planning, audits, medicines, safeguarding, CQC readiness and supporting admissions.

What you’ll be doing

• Working on the floor and leading clinical care across nursing and residential, supporting nurses, seniors and care staff
• Driving improvements within the nursing team and in outcomes for residents
• Checking care plans and risk assessments are accurate, person-centred and reviewed when needs change
• Leading medicines management, clinical audits and the monthly clinical risk and governance meeting
• Managing clinical risks such as falls, pressure care, infections and nutrition, and leading on safeguarding
• Keeping the home inspection-ready for CQC and the local authority
• Deputising for the Registered Manager, and carrying out pre-admission assessments to support occupancy

What you’ll need

• At least 2 years' experience working as a Clinical Lead
• Current NMC registration (RN)
• A leadership or management qualification
