Search Consultancy LTD is helping recruit a Deputy Manager for a 3-bed children's residential home in Tyseley, Birmingham. The role focuses on leading the home, safeguarding and delivering high-quality care to young people with EBD, with a clear pathway to Registered Manager responsibilities.

Salary is highly negotiable based on experience. The post is full-time and permanent, with Monday–Friday pattern and a commitment to developing leadership and regulatory compliance within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Willingness to work towards Level 5 where required.
• Experience in supervisory or leadership roles in children's residential care.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of Ofsted requirements.
• Ability to lead a team, make sound decisions and maintain professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with day-to-day running of the home to provide safe, consistent, individualised care.
• Help lead, supervise and develop the care team to promote high standards.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, care plans, risk assessments and regulatory standards.
• Promote emotional wellbeing and independence among young people.
• Contribute to staff supervision, training and performance management.
• Collaborate with social workers, families and professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
• Assist with audits, quality assurance and continuous service improvement.
• Cover the Registered Manager in their absence when delegated.
