Proline care Ltd is seeking a Deputy Manager for a residential children’s home in Kings Heath, Birmingham. The role combines operational leadership with administrative duties, totaling 40 hours weekly, including shifts and on-call responsibilities.

The candidate will co-manage staff, develop placement plans, review risk assessments, and apply therapeutic parenting practices. A driving licence is essential and shift patterns include mornings/evenings with occasional sleep-ins.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have managed a team for at least 2 years and have knowledge to co-manage house budgets.
• Oversee development of staff and young people in placement; formulate and update placement plans.
• Conduct risk assessments and practice in line with therapeutic parenting approaches.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager and team; assist in operational and administrative tasks.

Job description

We are seeking a Deputy Manager on behalf of our client to support and work alongside the Registered Manager of the Residential Children's Home in Kings Heath, Birmingham., Role is 40 hours per week, with the role split between operational and administrative responsibilities. Approximately 20 hours will be spent on shift, working alongside and supporting the staff team, with the remaining 20 hours allocated to administrative duties and providing support to the Registered Manager.

Candidates must have managed a team for at least 2 years with knowledge to efficiently co-managing the house budgets, overseeing the development of staff and the young people in placement, formulating and updating placement plans, risk assessments and positive therapeutic parenting. Candidates must have achieved a level 3 children's residential/children's workforce or level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Residential or a higher qualification in relation to the role. It is essential for the candidate to have a full UK driving licence.

The usual shift pattern is 7:0am-7:30pm. Where a sleep-in is required, the shift will run from 7:00am-10:00pm, followed by the sleep-in. There is also an expectation for the Deputy Manager to participate in the on-call rota, approximately 1-2 weekends as required.
