Job summary

Pharmacyupdate in Luton seeks an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in a children's LD residential home. You will lead a dedicated staff team, ensure high standards of care and safeguarding, and contribute to a nurturing environment where young people can thrive.

Qualifications

• Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Previous experience within a Children's Residential setting.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of children's residential regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with overall management of the home.
• Lead and motivate staff to deliver outstanding care.
• Ensure safeguarding and regulatory standards are maintained.
• Assist with care planning, risk assessments and behavioural strategies.
• Participate in on-call management rota.
• Supervise staff, support development and performance management.
• Promote positive outcomes and independence for children and young people.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and support are delivered at all times. You will play a key role in leading the staff team, mentoring colleagues, and helping create a safe, nurturing, and positive environment where young people can thrive.
