Job summary

Agincare Enable is seeking a Deputy Manager to lead and shape services across Dorset, with Wareham as the base. You will support the Registered Manager, oversee multiple services, and ensure safe, high-quality, person-centred care while meeting regulatory KPIs.

You will lead teams, manage rotas and budget considerations, promote continuous improvement, and maintain strong stakeholder relations. A hands-on leader with driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing services for adults with autism.
  • QCF Level 4/5 or RMA / Health & Social Care qualification.
  • Leadership and management in similar environments.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the care sector and regulatory framework.
  • IT proficiency including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication across levels.
  • Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with oversight of multiple services and regulatory compliance.
  • Line management, leadership, and development of staff across services.
  • Drive KPIs and continuous improvement in quality and safety.
  • Promote the business and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage staff rotas and oversee resources and care delivery.
  • Support budget management and financial discipline.
  • Embed person-centred care values and ensure safeguarding and reporting to CQC.
  • Attend meetings, model best practice, and provide on-call support as required.

About The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day success of our services, working closely with the Registered Manager to provide confident operational support, visible leadership and clear oversight across the team.

This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you will help ensure that every service we deliver is safe, caring, responsive, effective and well-led. You will support teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred care while helping to maintain strong standards against organisational expectations and regulatory KPIs.

You will make sure the people we support receive care that truly reflects their individual needs, with regular reviews, thoughtful planning and a consistent focus on dignity, independence, safety, quality of life and positive outcomes.

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help keep services running smoothly, support staff to perform at their best and step up with confidence to take full responsibility when needed. It is a varied, influential role for someone who enjoys leading by example and making a meaningful difference every day.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To support the Registered Manager with oversight of multiple services, ensuring compliance is maintained at all times in line with regulatory and organisational standards.
  • To support the Registered Manager with line management, leadership, and development of staff across your services, including Care Managers, Seniors, and Support Workers.
  • To ensure that operational and quality assurance KPIs are consistently met, working closely with the Registered Manager to drive continuous improvement.
  • To actively promote the business and maintain positive relationships with people we support, families, professionals, and stakeholders through excellent communication and customer service.
  • To prepare, manage, and oversee staff rotas across services, ensuring resources are effectively utilised and care delivery remains consistent.
  • To support the Registered Manager in budget management and promote financial discipline across services.
  • To ensure that Agincare Enable's values of holistic, person-centred care are embedded across all services, supporting individuals to achieve positive, outcome-based goals.
  • To support the Registered Manager in ensuring all safeguarding concerns and notifiable events are managed appropriately and reported to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) within required timescales.
  • To attend and contribute to meetings as required, ensuring actions are clearly identified and followed through to completion.
  • To undertake shifts within services where required, role modelling best practice and supporting teams to deliver high-quality care that promotes independence.
  • To act as a role model in adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • To undertake on-call duties as part of a rota system, ensuring effective out-of-hours support is available across the services.
  • Any other duties that are commensurate with the role and level of responsibility.
About You
  • Proven experience in managing services for adults with autism.
    Experience supporting individuals with autism, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and mental health needs.
  • QCF Level 4 or 5/RMA/Health & Social Care or prepared to undertake
  • Previous Leadership and Management experience in a similar environment or proven experience as a Senior Support Worker
  • Demonstrate up to date knowledge of the care sector and the regulatory framework
  • Proven IT experience, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills at a range of levels
  • Must have a valid UK Driving License
