Job summary

Cambian Group Plc is seeking a Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager, supervise staff, and deliver high-quality care for children and young people. The role includes managing child protection concerns, direct engagement with residents, and ensuring regulatory compliance across the home.

The successful candidate will have relevant Diploma certifications, a Level 5 qualification in leadership/management (or working towards), and a driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must have supervisory experience in the care sector.
• Diploma certs in childcare and leadership required or working towards.
• Driving licence required to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist the manager to meet aims and objectives.
• Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
• Supervise staff to meet the needs of children and young people.
• Undertake direct work with children and young people as appropriate.
• Act as the responsible person for child protection concerns and complaints.
• Collaborate with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes.

Main Purpose of the Job:

To assist the manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose. To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager. To support and manage the staff to enable them to meet the needs of the children and young people. To undertake direct work with Children and young people as appropriate. To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints. To work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people. To offer supervision and support to senior staff in line with care Quality Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

• Diploma 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• Working towards or holds a level 5 Diploma leadership and management residential childcare
• Current driving license

Experience

1 year’s relevant supervisory experience in the care sector
