Overview

Deputy Manager

Up to £45,000 p.a. pro rata (dependent on qualifications). Maternity cover.

Outram Fields in Bradway, Sheffield is a 69-bedroom care home with 6 luxury suites, lounges, dining rooms, an on-site café bar, cinema, and a professional hair and beauty salon. The home includes a community dedicated to the care of people living with dementia.

A maternity cover position is available for a confident, compassionate and experienced Deputy Manager to work alongside an existing Deputy in the home. You will assist the General Manager in all aspects of day-to-day running on a 24 hour basis and will deputise for the General Manager across the full range of duties in their absence.

Ideally you will have experience as an RGN, but strong care home leadership experience will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Support and manage teams and maintain a calm, professional manner at all times.
  • Oversee and maintain the care of residents, ensuring care is provided according to individual needs.
  • Mentor and support team members; ensure appraisals, training and supervision are up to date.
  • Assist the General Manager with all aspects of running the home and deputise in the GM’s absence.
  • Ensure all aspects of home management meet the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Professional qualification: Registered Nurse with active PIN registration is preferred; or demonstrate a solid background of relevant experience and qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 4/5).
  • Essential requirements:
    • Previous management/supervisory experience
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including IT skills
    • Evidence of recent clinical practice
    • Evidence of management and administration of medication competency
    • Knowledge of NMC Code of Conduct and standards
