Job summary

Staff Match Limited is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager for a friendly nursery in Apsley, Hertfordshire. You will lead and motivate staff, manage safeguarding and health & safety, and contribute to EYFS planning and child development observations.

The role requires clear leadership, commitment to high standards of care and education, and the ability to work in partnership with parents and staff. Desirable certificates enhance eligibility.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or above
• Experience of leading and motivating teams
• Experience of managing Safeguarding and Health & Safety
• Desirable: Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Desirable: Paediatric First Aid

Responsibilities

• Recruitment, training and development of staff team ensuring all staff understand and follow nursery policy and procedures.
• Assist in recruitment of nursery staff, manage inductions, supervisions and appraisals.
• Lead the team and support in EYFS planning and reflective practice.
• Ensure children's observations, assessment and development records are maintained.
• Take part in activities and open days, promotions, etc.
• Lead lead responsibility of Safeguarding and Health & Safety, ensuring policy compliance.
• Promote diversity and equal opportunity.
• Work in partnership with parents forming caring and trusting relationships.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
• Lead by example with flexible approach and high care/education standards.
