Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a motivated Deputy Manager to support the General Manager in running the catering operation at London Metropolitan University. You will oversee two retail cafes, hospitality, and vending services, ensuring excellent customer service, high food safety standards, and a hands-on, proactive leadership style.

The role requires taking charge when the General Manager is off-site and guiding a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Location: London Met University, Holloway Road

We’re looking for a motivated and hands on Deputy Manager to support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of our catering operation at London Metropolitan University.

The role covers two retail cafés, hospitality and vending services, with one café providing a hot food offer. You’ll help manage daily operations, support the team, maintain excellent customer service and ensure high standards of health & safety and food safety compliance.

You’ll also take responsibility for the site when the General Manager is off-site, making this an ideal opportunity for an experienced hospitality supervisor or assistant manager looking to take the next step in their career.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about food, hospitality and customer service
• Confident leading and motivating a team
• Organised and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledgeable about food safety and health & safety
• Hands-on and happy to get involved wherever needed
• Ready to step up and take ownership of the operation when required
