Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a Deputy General Manager for its King's Cross, London operation. You will work closely with the General Manager to deliver exceptional catering and hospitality experiences, leading a talented team through busy service periods and events.

The role requires strong events management experience, a hands‑on leadership style, and a passion for delivering top‑quality food and service while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous management or supervisory experience within catering, hospitality or a similar fast‑paced environment.
• Strong events management experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in delivering an outstanding catering and hospitality experience.
• Lead, motivate and develop the team, creating a positive and high‑performing working environment.
• Take a visible, hands‑on approach, supporting the operation during busy service periods and events.
• Plan, coordinate and deliver a variety of events, ensuring they run smoothly from initial preparation through to delivery.

• Support team training, development and performance, helping colleagues reach their full potential.
• Support the commercial performance of the contract, identifying opportunities to drive sales and manage costs effectively.

• Respond quickly and positively to changing operational requirements and customer needs.
• Support continuous improvement, bringing new ideas and creativity to the catering, hospitality and events offer.

Events will be an important part of the role, so we’re looking for someone with strong events management experience who is confident bringing together people, food and service to deliver seamless experiences from start to finish.
